Our Travel Customer Contact Centre is seeking multiple Travel Consultants to join their team based in their Brisbane CBD inbound Contact Centre on a temporary full-time basis for 6-months. As a Travel Consultant you will be responsible for providing a complete reservation, ticketing and information service involving all facets of Australian rail and third-party travel.

About the role:

• Provide informative and accurate advice to customers

• Ensuring that the allocation of all reservations and ticketing is correct and credit card, cash and account holder payments are completed in a timely manner
• Developing and processing customer holiday itineraries embracing rail, coach and air travel, accommodation and package tours
• Up-selling and on-selling Queensland Rail and third-party travel products and developing return business
• Comply with policies and regulations regarding Queensland Rail Travel Customer Contract Centre Operations
• Work various shifts between the hours of 06:55 and 19:10 across 7 days a week. The hours will vary week to week and there is a requirement for some weekend and public holiday work
• A small number of staff also complete overnight on-call duties

About you:

• Have a passion for customer service and a genuine interest in helping people

• Be a quick thinker, with the ability to work through problems and provide solutions
• Be a dedicated and flexible team player and adapt well to change in the workplace
• Previous experience within a call centre or Travel and Tourism environment would be highly desirable
• Intermediate computer and Microsoft Office skills

Benefits:

• Temporary full-time opportunity for 6-months – with an annual base salary of approximately $72,000 (pro rata) / $35 per hour + overtime + penalty rates + super

• Be part of the Customer Contact Centre team and work directly with an experienced team of Travel Consultants and a Team Leader
• Participate in 4-weeks of comprehensive training upon commencement and receiving ongoing support thereafter
• Free rail travel to and from work + discounted rail travel for off-duty travel on the SEQ and long-distance travel networks
